In which industries are Stelzer agitators used?

Stelzer Rührtechnik has been active in the field of customized mixing technology since 1946 and today is part of the international plant engineering group SPX FLOW. Stelzer manufactures agitators for a wide range of industries, including the food, beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Stelzer’s origins lie in mixing technology for dairies, where Stelzer agitators were and still are widely used. Today, Stelzer produces tailor-made agitators for all applications in the food industry, including anchor agitators for high-viscosity media, paddle agitators for medium-viscosity media and propeller or magnetic agitators for low-viscosity liquids.

Today, Stelzer has a strong presence in mixing technology for the chemical industry, where agitators are manufactured from pilot scale up to large storage tanks. This includes paddle agitators, propeller agitators and coaxial agitators in various designs (ATEX, with mechanical seal, sterile design).

Stelzer offers magnet-driven agitators that are compactly installed in the tank bottom. This is often required in the pharmaceutical and food industries. Stelzer also provides classic side-entry agitators for installation in the cylindrical shell of the tank – for example in large milk tanks or wastewater tanks to prevent sedimentation. However, the most common configuration is top-entry agitators for installation in the tank roof, which are suitable for almost all applications. These often include propeller agitators or slow-speed gear agitators with paddle blades.
