Not necessarily – used equipment and tanks are sourced from decommissioned facilities where they were in operation until the very end. At our warehouse, all equipment is professionally inspected, including material testing (AISI304/AISI316) and wall thickness measurement. A precise description of each vessel is then prepared, accurately documenting its condition. A high-quality used vessel, once properly refurbished, can be technically and hygienically just as reliable as a new vessel – but at a significantly lower price.

If required, we offer modifications and adaptations – e.g. additional CIP connections, a suitable agitator, a heating jacket or food-grade surface finishing (e.g. Ra ≤ 0.8 µm). Many customers carry out minor modifications themselves; for larger-scale modifications, we cooperate with specialised service providers who will prepare a customised quotation for your project.

Many of our stainless steel vessels originate from the food or pharmaceutical industry and were manufactured to the highest hygiene standards (EHEDG, GMP). For each used vessel, we provide the exact previous application, so you can quickly determine whether it is suitable for your project. On request, we also prepare an inspection report of the inner surfaces, including surface roughness and material certificate.

No statutory warranty is offered on used goods. However, our customers can rely on our accommodating support: Should a problem arise, we will assist you with any costs incurred or offer a return or exchange of the vessel. For an additional charge, we can carry out a surface inspection of the interior on the customer's behalf – particularly recommended for food-grade equipment intended for direct product contact.

Equipment and process systems for the food industry must comply with various standards and directives depending on the application. In Europe, Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 serves as the basis for materials in food contact. In addition, many facilities rely on EHEDG-certified Hygienic Design, which ensures residue-free CIP/SIP cleaning. For export to the USA, FDA compliance (21 CFR) is decisive. These vessels are designed for aseptic processes and frequently feature CIP/SIP connections, sterile valves and polished interior surfaces (Ra ≤ 0.8 µm). After professional refurbishment and surface inspection, they can be reused for sterile food applications.
