BLEFA, based in Kreuztal (NRW), was for many years a well-known manufacturer of stainless steel IBC containers. Stainless steel IBCs are primarily used wherever material resistance, hygiene, and a robust design are decisive—for example in the , as well as in related fields such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, or food, depending on equipment and specification.

The BLEFA brand that still exists today is particularly known for stainless steel kegs in the beverage industry.
