UCON was founded as early as 1740 and can look back on a long tradition in the manufacture of customized IBC containers. The focus is on cubic IBCs for liquids and . Typical applications include the transport of raw materials in the paints and coatings industry, , pharmaceuticals, as well as in the , beverage, and pet food sectors. THIELMANN UCON holds all necessary certifications to make the containers suitable for the transport of hazardous goods.
In the field of IBCs for powders and bulk solids, THIELMANN UCON manufactures cubic containers with a conical bottom, which is typically equipped with a DN250 shut-off valve. Depending on hygiene requirements, the container frame can be designed in hot-dip galvanized steel or stainless steel.
Following the acquisition of UCON by THIELMANN in 1999, the company increasingly focused on the production of reusable containers (KEGs) for the beer and beverage industry. Since 2024, the management team around UCON has separated from the THIELMANN Group. As a result, UCON continues the production of IBC containers at its site in Hausach, while THIELMANN concentrates primarily on the manufacture of beverage KEGs in Spain. In the future, the brands will therefore operate independently of one another.

Various IBCs and bulk containers are also equipped with UN hazardous goods approval for road transport.
