Ekato Rühr- und Mischtechnik GmbH, based in Schopfheim (Germany), is a global leader in innovative mixing and agitation technologies. For over 90 years, Ekato has been developing high-precision stirrers for demanding applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food industries.

A key focus of Ekato is reactor stirrers for the chemical industry. These are differentiated particularly by highly demanding operating parameters, such as pressure levels ranging from vacuum to +200 bar, temperatures above 200°C, or specific required certifications (e.g., ATEX, ASME, GOST). EKATO manufactures reactor stirrers for both small laboratory tanks as well as large reactors with volumes of over 100,000 liters.

Ekato also offers universal industrial stirrers for pressure-resistant and pressureless applications in the chemical industry, as well as for applications in biotechnology, food, and pharmaceuticals. Industrial stirrers are specifically designed according to customer requirements, with motor powers up to 75 kW, shaft diameters ranging from 40-120 mm, and all common materials in contact with the product (316, 304, Duplex, Super Duplex, C-steel, or even titanium).

For less complex pressureless applications, Ekato offers space-saving compact strirers with geared motors. These can also be used as side-entry stirrers for lateral installation in the cylindrical part of a tank. Where a gear stirrer is not required, Ekato also offers affordable high-speed mixers with direct drive (approximately 1500 rpm), specifically designed for water-like media in the pharmaceutical or food industries.

With the UNIMIX division, Ekato also offers complete processing vessels designed for the production of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food applications. UNIMIX homogenizing vessels are equipped with an anchor stirrer or coaxial stirrer, as well as a homogenizer, and can be operated under vacuum.

Ekato uses patented stirring elements for many of its stirrers, which are developed in-house. This includes, for example, the Ekato PARAVISC for highly viscous products, the Ekato INTERMIG for homogenizing tasks in the medium-viscosity range, or universal solutions such as the Ekato VISCOPROP, which corresponds to a classic cross-blade stirrer.
