The geographic location of the tank manufacturer Jorns in Hildesheim (Germany) has a rich history in the field of tank and vessel construction. Back in the days, innovative tank construction was first carried out on the same site by the tank-building company Ritter, before Ritter was eventually succeeded by the newly founded tank-manufacturer Hildesheimer Behälterbau (HBB). Most recently, in 2024, the same manufacturing site in Hildesheim was taken over by the company Jorns Behälterbau, after the tank manufacturer HBB was unable to continue its operations independently.

Jorns continues the focus of the former Hildesheimer Behälterbau and is particularly focused on large-scale tank and silo construction. The company manufactures tanks with diameters up to 4.4 meters and a volume of over 400,000 liters. Examples of applications include silos for starch, flour, sugar, dextrose, and similar bulk goods. Jorns offers tanks and silos exclusively as custom-made products, where mixing technology, heating/cooling jackets, insulation, and other components can be added in virtually any configuration. The company also manufactures multi-chamber tanks that combine multiple product compartments into a single cylindrical body, saving valuable space. For example, multiple CIP chambers can be combined into one tank-body instead of installing numerous tanks side by side. In addition to its large tank construction, Jorns Behälterbau also manufactures sterile tanks and process vessels in all sizes and is authorized to manufacture tanks for hazardous goods according to the German WHG-directive.
