Cosmetics Production – Used & New Tanks, Mixing Vessels & Process Equipment

Not necessarily – used vessels and equipment are sourced from decommissioned facilities where they were in operation until recently. At our warehouse, all equipment is professionally inspected, including a material analysis and wall thickness measurement. If required, the interior surface is re-polished to the specified Ra value (e.g. Ra ≤ 0.8 µm). A high-quality used vessel made from AISI316 stainless steel (1.4404) can be just as technically and hygienically reliable as a new vessel after refurbishment – at a significantly lower price.

If required, we offer modifications and adaptations – e.g. additional tri-clamp or DIN connections, a suitable agitator, heating or cooling jacket or special surface treatment for GMP-compliant cosmetics production. Many customers carry out minor adjustments themselves; for larger modifications, we cooperate with external service providers who will prepare a customised quote for your project.

Many of our equipment items originate from the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry and were manufactured to the highest GMP quality standards – typically from AISI316 stainless steel (1.4404 / AISI 316L) with CIP-cleanable interior surfaces. For each used vessel, we document the exact previous application and the surface finish (Ra value), so you can quickly determine whether the equipment is suitable for your project. On request, we can prepare a detailed inspection report of the interior surfaces.

No statutory warranty is offered on used goods. However, our customers can rely on our accommodating support in case of issues: should a problem arise, we will assist you with the costs incurred or offer a return or exchange of the vessel. For an additional charge, we can also carry out a surface inspection of the interior on the customer's behalf to proactively rule out potential risks.

For the GMP-compliant production of creams, emulsions and lotions, we recommend agitated vessels and homogenisers made from AISI316 stainless steel (material 1.4404 / AISI 316L) with electropolished interior surfaces and an Ra value ≤ 0.8 µm. The vessels should be CIP/SIP-capable in design and feature hygienic connections (tri-clamp, DIN 11851). Behälter KG stocks corresponding equipment from renowned manufacturers such as Becomix, Netzsch Vakumix and Pierre Guerin.

Our inventory includes cosmetics equipment ranging from 50 litres to over 50,000 litres nominal capacity. Particularly in demand for cosmetics production are mixing vessels from 200 to 5,000 litres, storage tanks from 1,000 to 30,000 litres and vacuum emulsifiers from 100 to 3,000 litres. Whether laboratory batch or large-scale industrial production – we will find the right solution from immediately available stock or as a custom new build.
