remarks
The spray tower is used to produce soluble coffee products from highly concentrated coffee extract by hot air drying. At the top of the spray tower, the coffee extract is atomized at high pressure by means of three cone nozzles and then falls down by gravity and with the drying air also flowing downwards, with the water content in the extract evaporating. The drying product arrives at the bottom as a solid with a residual moisture content. The finished product is separated from the drying air flow by deflection and mass force separation. For further dust separation, the drying air flow is then fed through two cyclone systems and finally over a cloth filter system. The dust separated in the cyclone systems is fed back into the spray dryer and blown into the spray cone of the coffee extract, where it agglomerates with the extract to form larger particles.
